Sorting out problems with shared homes

Is your home licensed?

Find out if your landlord has got the right licences.

Contact Brent Council Private Rent Services Brent Council on prs.licensing@brent.gov.uk or
020 8937 2384 or 020 8937 2385.

You might have to leave a message and they will call you back.

Brent council can prosecute HMO landlords or any manager they have employed if they break the law on licensing.

Is your home safe?

Ask Brent Council to do an assessment using the Housing Health Safety Rating System – the HHSRS. This assessment looks for specific hazards in your home. If the assessment shows your home is not safe then Brent council can take action against your landlord.
