Your rights on eviction

You have statutory rights when you feel forced to leave your home or if your landlord tries to evict you. ‘Statutory’ means they are your rights by law.

Your landlord has to pay court costs to legally evict you. If your landlord does evict you the court might say you have to pay back the costs.

Choose 1 of the 5 options below.

Option 1: Staying in your home

Option 2: Notice about leaving

Option 3: Staying after the notice period runs out

Option 4: Staying after a possession order

Option 5: I feel unsafe at home
