Staying after the notice period runs out

You have a right to stay in your home after the notice period runs out if you want to.

Your landlord must go to court to get a Court Order for Possession – a possession order – if they want to evict you. This is an order of the court that gives you the date to leave your home.

Your landlord must use the right forms and legal process if they want a possession order.

The process takes many weeks. You can stay in your home during this process.
